Addiction to gradients....

Yup, I know, it's been a while. I am feeling appropriately guilty. My only excuse is that I've been busy; busy with my addiction. Sigh, a gradient addiction. If you look at my last post, that's when the addiction began or at least became recognizable. I began knitting a sweater pattern in gradient yarns. I love those long repeats and color shifts. Well, one thing led to another, the addiction grew, and now I'm dealing in gradients!

What's a gradient, you ask? It's a yarn or spinning fiber with a l-o-o-o-n-g expanse of color that gently blends into the next color. It can be a solid color shifting from dark to light or multi-colored with blended hues in between color shifts. Here are examples of my yarns:

Here is an example of a gradient that I dyed for my Roving of the Month Club last month. The colorway is called Royal Gramma:

A woman from Ohio saw a post of mine on Ravelry and sent me a photo and asked if I could dye an 8 ounce gradient yarn with the colors from the photo. Hell yeah!

My addiction is far from satisfied. I need more, more, more! Wouldn't that sweater pattern look great in one of these gradients?
